A LETTER FROM OUR PASTOR

Almost 100 years ago, a group of leaders from Chesterton and Valparaiso gathered. To dream. To hope. To imagine reaching the kids of Liberty Township with the Gospel. In 1927, a Sunday school was born, taking root and thriving even in the midst of the Great Depression. In 1941, that Sunday School became a church that was growing in Porter County even as the world went to war. Those early pioneers laid the foundation for who we are today — three difference campuses throughout Northwest Indiana reaching our region with the Gospel.

One year ago, we sought to build on that legacy with our Gather Initiative. One year in, we already see God working in powerful ways and feel confirmed we are following His lead. A year ago, we named a desire to grow our special needs ministries – and in the past year, we have witnessed several new special needs families find a community at LBC that they now call home. A year ago, we named a desire to start a residency for the next generation. We currently have multiple business leaders and young adults interested in helping us pioneer our residency program.

A year ago, we named a desire to support church planting in Chicago – and we now have a team that is actively praying, supporting and serving The Garden Church in its first days. Incredible!

With all this happening I can only imagine – What will happen in the year to come?!?

That is where you come in.

At the halfway mark of our Gather Initiative, we wanted to regather (see what I did there?) together to continue to pray, to dream, and to challenge one another – to gather ourselves before God…to gather together as one church…and to gather the next generation and those not yet gathered.

We have put together this booklet and hope you will engage with it and use it for this House of Prayer for All People series. Bring it with you each week to worship and also to small groups. I hope you will find this to be a great resource to continue challenging you on your journey of discipleship.

I love getting to do this with you – so thank you for your generosity and willingness to continue this journey together!

Grace & peace,
Tim

I WILL GATHER OTHERS ALSO, GATHER THEM IN WITH OTHERS ALREADY GATHERED.
